Yet even on a grey afternoon in late February, players need energy, focus and alertness. For elite athletes, the training environment must enhance performance every day- not only when natural daylight is available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is why FC Rosengard, as the first woman\u2019s team in Sweden, has invested in Biocentric Lighting from Brainlit AB.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 At its core, this is about improving performance. Elite athletes carefully evaluate every factor that can impact their performance. Biocentric Lighting is designed to support the biological systems the influence alertness, focus, sleep, and recovery \u2013 all of which are critical to elite performance and wellness, says Michael Frantz\u00e9n, Business Development Manager, Sports Europe at BrainLit AB.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biocentric Lighting recreates the dynamics of natural daylight indoors. In the morning, the light supports the body\u2019s natural awakening and contributes to increased alertness and energy. Especially important pre-practice or pre-game. Later in the day and evening, it supports melatonin production, helping the body wind down and prepare for sleep&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this way, the light supports the body\u2019s natural circadian rhythm and contributes to better sleep, a more stable mood, and improved overall health \u2013 critical factors for elite athletes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system follows a circadian pattern and can also be tailored to specific needs through so-called \u201clight recipes,\u201d Michael explains:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 In sports, a light recipe could mean that before a late afternoon or evening match, the team is exposed to more activating light that supports alertness and focus. After the match, the\u00a0light shifts to a more calming profile that helps the body unwind, which in turn improves sleep and recovery.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Light has both an immediate alerting effect and a longer-term role in supporting circadian rhythm. She joined from Racing Louisville in the American NWSL and has 35 international caps and 75 appearances in the OBOS Damallsvenskan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a knee injury, patience is tested during rehabilitation \u2013 a period where structure, continuity, and the right training environment are crucial. For a player with international experience and high-performance standards, every detail matters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club has also strengthened its squad with another new signing. Goalkeeper Saga Andersson joined \u00d6rebro in 2025. She has already made her Damallsvenskan debut, represented Sweden at youth international level, and is seen as one of the next goalkeepers progressing into senior national team football. The signing is part of FC Roseng\u00e5rd\u2019s long-term commitment to developing young players.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the gym, Saga trains with determination to return to peak form after a concussion. For players in rehabilitation, the environment is especially important \u2013 particularly when the road back requires both patience and mental strength.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 It is truly interesting how much the right lighting affects you. Knowing that light supports rest and recovery and contributes to better sleep makes a substantial difference. For us, performance is not only about what we do on the pitch, but how well we recover between sessions, says Saga Andersson.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 I think it is incredible that we can bring \u201cdaylight\u201d into our training facility.
